Renfrewshire’s young people need businesses and employers to come forward and offer employment opportunities and support to help them prepare to enter the workplace.

What is Invest in Renfrewshire?

Through Invest in Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire Council is working in partnership with local companies to:

•               Tackle youth unemployment.
•               Support business growth.
•               Invest in the local economy.

Invest in Renfrewshire is focused on job creation, better promotion of employment opportunities to local young people  and ensuring that  they have the skills they need to take up available jobs. Businesses who support Invest in Renfrewshire companies may be eligible for a range of business support measures to help them grow their business.

What is involved?

Renfrewshire Council is now asking local companies to sign up to the programme and commit to one or more of the following types of employment support:

•               Create a job for a young person living in Renfrewshire.
•               Establish an internship for a graduate living in Renfrewshire.
•               Offer work experience placements to groups of young people.
•               Host an industry visit for groups of unemployed young people.
•               Contribute staff time to heIping young people become more employable.
•               Encourage other companies to sign up for Invest in Renfrewshire.
•               Provide sponsorship to Invest in Renfrewshire.
